Fido charged me for an add-on that I have yet to benefit...?

So I just bought a mobile phone from Fido (prepaid).
I told them that I wanted the .50$/day add-on (unlimited texting).
I have yet to text someone yet, but I keep getting charged .50$/day everyday now.
I thought that they'd only charge me if I texted?

If not, hould I delete this add-on for now and use only the days I need it? Is it safe?
 
They're going to charge you every single day regardless of whether you use it or not. I have unlimited messaging for $10 a month and some months I don't text (which is shocking) but I still get charged for it.

Call them up and tell them you want it removed if you don't use it all the time...... If you text like 10-20 times in one day and none for the rest of the week, don't bother with unlimited. If you're constantly texting around the clock, then keep it.

You can't just "have it" when you want it. The phone company needs to make money off of you somehow.
