Fiat Punto GT turbo or Honda Civic VTI?

I want a new car (again)! and have narrowed it down to either of these, which do you think is the better car and why. the vti ( 1998 ek4 model)would be relatively standard whereas the punto would be running a seb2 or higher engine setup, so around 170bhp with the civic being 160bhp. i want acceleration, not bothered about top speed and dont want to be fixing it every 10 mins!

opinions?

also any similar cars you can suggest?
