FFXIII Versus trailer

What about the game’s characters?
The main character is a member of the royal family in said kingdom that has protected its crystals for generations. His duty is that of protecting the crystals. He sports modern clothing, and lives in a modern-day-looking skyscraper that is tall and twin-towered, which is the equivalent of a castle in the FFVXIII world. Along with this castle, there are other modern-looking buildings reminiscent of New York City, Tokyo, and Shanghai sparsely spaced around the ‘castle’. While the main character looks modern, he uses swords instead of guns. He can levitate swords and probably manipulate them in other ways. He has blue-grey hair, black pants and suit with the Nomura-typical zippers, a soft Asian, almost feminine face, and red eyes. This design, however, is not completed. Next time we see him, he may be wearing red instead of black.
The creature-heretics wear Medieval Armor, and use what appear to be rifles that bear a strong resemblance to Israeli Defense Force Defender rifles (or the Galil). In the trailer, they attack the main character’s castle, apparently scoring some kills in the courtyard just outside of the castle. Their bullets have appear to have no effect on the main character.
Other characters will be included in Versus XIII as well, obviously. While there probably won’t be a love story, there will be female characters in the game, that may even serve as party members to the main character. Remember that a strong theme here is bonding, so you will get close to your allies.
