FFI+II: Dawn Of Souls Goddess' Bell Not Working?

In Final Fantasy 2 I head up to the door in Kashkun's Keep, press 'A' but the 'items' selection is grey even though I have Goddess' Bell in my inventory. Am I missing something here or.... I hope it's not a glitch. -__-
