Hello guys,

Fennec a.k.a firefox for android pre-alpha is release. you can see more info here..

Please read following carefully before installing it.

* We've only really tested this on the Motorola Droid and the Nexus One.
* It will likely not eat your phone, but bugs might cause your phone to stop responding, requiring a reboot.
* Memory usage of this build isn't great -- in many ways it's a debug build, and we haven't really done a lot of optimization yet. This could cause some
problems with large pages, especially on low memory devices like the Droid.
* You'll see the app exit and relaunch on first start, as well as on add-on installs; this is a quirk of our install process, and we're working to get rid of it.
* You can't open links from other apps using Fennec; we should have this for the next build.
* This build requires Android 2.0 or above, and likely an OpenGL ES 2.0 capable device.
* Edit: This build must be installed to internal memory, not to a SD card.

you need to allow non-market app to install from the settings.

Hmm.. Some people has problem running firefox on CM. I am able to run it successfully without any problem in first shot. I've a N1 (not rooted).

BTW one question. did you install it on SD card or internal memory?

@everybody,

See its a pre-alpha release. Its not even alpha. You cannot expect it to be stable. Bugs are expected at this level. Firefox team has already stated that its full of bugs. So, I think you should wait till its final release or until beta release.

My friend Like one Year ago I do Alpha test for fennec and is exactly like now for Android no Changes,I think is the same story

it wont run off the sd card, you have to move it to internal memory or reinstall it to internal memory for it to work. fennec is ruining well on my nexus one, at least for a pre-alpha version.

I just hope they can shrink the package down. When I went to uninstall it - it was showing 30.57MB. That's quite a lot, considering the desktop version of Firefox is the same size lol.

I downloaded the install package and went into Notifications to install. It told me I had to authorize non-market applications to allow it. It did that, but the entry in my notifications disappeared and now I can't find the installer on my Droid. Any suggestions?
