female gender prediction: the 3-line test in a sonogram...is it accurate?

i went in for my 20 week scan and the baby wasn't cooperating at all with anything they were trying to do...including trying to figure out tha sex. they scheduled another appt at about 22 weeks and the tech said then 'she thinks its a girl'. now when she said it, she showed me on the screen what she believed to be 3 lines between the legs, looking from underneath the bum-bum. i know that this is the sign the techs look for in determining a girl, but i want to know how accurate it is. has anyone ever been told this and ended up having a boy? or are they mostly accurate if they do see these lines?? i'm starting to buy pink, and alot of it so i want to be sure...
to the one who commented...i know these lines aren't random. i'm aware that there is an obvious reason for there being 3 lines and not 2 or 4. but my concern is whether these lines always mean the labia for a girl. is it possible that what i saw was actually a glimpse of the bottom of his package?? a boy would have '3' parts too...

They told my friend rocky his wife was going to have a girl the whole pregnancy they had everything bought for a little girl...they gave birth to a boy

We had three really clear lines (that's the labia) and we have a little girl. However, our tech was really sure and we did a 3-D ultrasound (mostly just because we wanted her big brother to see his sister inside mama's tummy, but it helped to confirm).

Its not just random lines, its the middle and two sides of the labia. Look at your own vagina lol and you can see where there could be three lines that could be drawn on there. Ultrasounds are pretty accurate when determining gender, but I would not trust them 100%, buy some gender neutral just in case :) Its just a good idea...
