Someone I know was almost killed earlier this week, and the suspect has been apprehended. She admitted to the crime and is being charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and running from the police. How much jail time can she expect to serve? I believe this is her first offense, but does it make a difference that she attempted to kill two people?

First offense, maybe none. Unfortunately, she could get probation and a fine ro she could get up to a year. Chances are they will negotiate for a lesser sentence.

It depends on how much physical harm was brought to that person. Also, if the state believed she tried to kill them then she would have been charged with attempted murder. She will most likely get off on probation unless there was permanent damage done.
