Holy cow what a race today! Carl Edwards gambles on fuel milage and wins, cutting down Johnson's lead a little in the process. Also Gilliland has snapped! I never would have figured him to be that type of person. What are your opinions on today's race and what penalty should Gilliland get from NASCAR?

Carl is awsome. Johnson better get his ass going if he wants thats championship. and I don't think Gilliland should get any penalty, he just did what no one else would.. give Montoya a little of Montoyas medicine! kudos to David Gilliland.

<<< Hats off to the # 99 team and fans!

Holy Cow is right! When I woke up today and was getting ready to watch the race did I ever think it was going to come down to fuel mileage. Carl & Bob Osborne are definitely clicking. Congrats to Carl and his fans! That was just cool.

Im with you on David Gilliland, I never would have thunk he would have did that kinda move on anybody. I really didn't know what to think at first, whether it was a mistake or was it intentional. When I seen the replay and heard Nascar was parking him I guess they did deem it intentional and I have to agree with Nascar. I could be wrong, I wasn't in the #38 car or the #42 but it did look like he did it on purpose. Im guessing some big points deduction and some pretty big $$$$ going into the Nascar foundation. They might even park him for the next race. Im looking forward to Tuesday to see how bad Nascar is going to come down on him.

Well im pissed about Jr running out of gas. But it was a great race. Happy for Edwards on the win and cutting down Jimmies lead. As for Gilliland well hes screwed. NASCAR will come down hard like always. Glad to see Jamie Mac get a finish he deserves. The last few weeks he just hasn't had the finishes indicitive of were he has run. And even though i dislike Montoya he needs to finish a race. I mean how many times can you be shut down like he has been.

I thought it was a fascinating race. Gilliland over-reacted, there's a difference between letting a fellow driver know you're upset, and completely wiping them out.

It was an okay race, especially for the fans of the #99. I wish Gordon pulled it off, though. He really deserves a win this year. Hopefully, he will win Phoenix or Homestead. I'm rooting for the #48 to win the championship, but I hope that he will by able win it in an exciting way. He will have to work hard at Phoenix next week. Gilliland should at least be fined about $5,000 and maybe get suspended for the rest of the year. We can't have guys intentionally wrecking each and other and putting other drivers at risk, especially in the chase. I remember in 2004, Robby Gordon intentionally wrecked Greg Biffle during the first race of the chase, resulting in Tony Stewart and Jeremy Mayfield's days to come to an end and their chase chances ending just one race in the chase. What happened with the #38 and #42 today was dangerous and could have torn other cars up, too. I hope you enjoyed the race today!

Carl and his crew chief raced a smart race. Gordon did also. Johnson surprised me big time I never expected him to run so badly at Texas today.

Not all of that was Gilliland's fault. In the interview Montoya himself said that Gilliland was in the way and Montoya was running the high line and that Montoya got mad because Gilliland was in his way and was "like 50 laps down" (according to Montoya) so Montoya got into Gilliland and punted him into the wall. Montoya's last words in his interview was "It is just frustrating when he gets in the way" so that lets you know that Montoya was admitting he made Gilliland mad. Gilliland was just paying Montoya back and carried it a little too far.

Actually I was impressed with Montoya admitting that it was basically his fault for getting mad that Gilliland was in the way.
