Feeling sick (from stomach) when in the USA??

Hello,

I thought I'd come here first and ask for some advise before seeing a Doctor, I know I can't get them free in the USA :)

Basically I travel to the USA often from the UK, as my other half lives there, and the last time I traveled here, I had a stomach illness for a week, then it went away, then another week later I had it again for two weeks - before I left the USA it had subsided though.

I returned to the UK for 3 months, and didn't have any stomach related issues, or illnesses.

However I'm now back in the USA, I've been here for 1 month as of tomorrow, and on Monday I've come down with the exact same symptoms.. Mainly just feeling unwell in my stomach, not serve enough to vomit, but to generally feel unwell.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Keep a record of what you eat or drink. Maybe the water? You may find that there is some food that is setting it off. Is the air OK where you live? I hope you track it down.

I imagine ther is quite a change in your diet, and perhaps it is simply related to the two differant cultures. I can imagine such back and forth would be hard on many tummys.

nick0001,

It is more than likely that you are suffering from shock. It is quite difficult for alot of people to take in the awesomeness that is the USA! You may want to try and just take it in a little bit at a time ;) LOL..... Seriously, I am joking my friend!

I am responding to your question because I recently went to Puerto Rico and upon my return to the states I suffered from an unknown illness too. I went to a few different doctors and had multiple test run but nothing ever came of it and eventually it went away.

Like the others said, keep a diary of everything you are experiencing and then tell your doctor back home. If your log is detailed enough, hopefully he can he/she could help w/ your problems.

Best of luck to you!

Go Arsenal :)
