Feeling sick after exercise?

Hi, the past three weeks Ive been exercising on my immobile bike. First five minutes I started out on a hard setting to get my muscles ready, and the rest on a pretty easy setting. I'm now able to go on the easier setting much faster now but afterwards ill feel sick. Does this mean that the exercise is working? About 20-30 minutes I drink a health smoothy, two celery sticks, a carrot, a banana, and orange Juice blend together. Is this good for me to do, and are those good things to drink? Also a tea spoon of sugar for flavor and a quick metabolism boost.

Also I exercise for a few weeks to a few month every several months at a time to stay to at least stay some what in shape. Before I would always stay on the hard setting so my muscles would feel tired and in pain, but now I'm going much more easier on my self so that Ill loose wight rather than gain even more muscle wight. Is it best that I go easier on my self to loose wight rather than hard?
