hi gram, its been awhile. hope other things are getting better for you at least. one big thing here is the mere fact that youwere acxtually TOLD by that neuro that if this is not indeed fixed or even actually identified for the generators so it CAN be fixed is you will have permanent nerve damage. that one thing kind of 'ups' the need so to speak? what i perrsonally do not understand is how ANY actual neuro could lay THAT kind of info on you and then simply NOT follow things up with that badly needed MRI??? kind of stupid not to mention almost negligent on his part where the best interset of the patient is just a big part of why they refer you for tests in the first place?
if you are not getting anywhere with your current team of docs gram,i t really IS time to simply find a much more hanRAB on and involved primary who is the one who is supposed to be in charge of coordinating patient care with other docs or referring you for basic tests when they suspect a possible problem, ya know what i mean? either that or just TELL your current primary that according to the neuro you are kind of running out of time here to just get this IDed and possibly fixed BEFORE real damage sets in and something that could have been prevented with the appropriate intervention could have been avoided. this places that liability upon YOUR primary at that point. simply ask him if he or she wants to be the one who paralyzed a patient with their inability to simply do their job appropriately. that MRI has just been very badly needwed since you did this at all. i would really start getting demanding here til someone finally listens gram. i have had to do this before for my son and for myself too with alot of my many seperate medical problems. not listening to a patient when they are really in need of something CAN come back to haunt them. that neuro too, what the heck was he thinking here??? either one of these docs can refer you now for this MRI, but it could take longer with any level of specialist so your primary may be the best one to really attack here with this. i would get this primary(you just do whatever YOU feel is needed too) do just do whatever he has to to get your very REAL need met with that MRI, then lose the idiot for good. he simply should have done this for you a very long time ago. trust me, there are many many much more caring and compassionate primarys out there that actually give a freaking dam about their own patients. interesting concept isn't it? just keep pushing anyone and everyone you actually are seeing just to get that crucial MRI done gram. i would not mess around at this point at all. be very direct and demand this be done per what you were just actually told by that neuro. that is more than enough show of 'need' here to have that one MRI done at this point.
just a very helpful hint here for ya when approaching any of these docs about this. get angry, and take all that anger and frustration into any appt with you. being nice to these idiots obviously has not gotten you anywhere so get angry at them and make them do their job for you. i would most certainly be VERY angry at this point by now if this were me hon. tell them you have had it living like this, that there is defintiely something wrong, and you just have to need to know what that something actually is. then ask them, is this not what any 'good' doc just does for their own patients?? you have just suffered enough at this point gram. now get angry at them for placing you here at all. sometimes this is the only way to get thru to people that we have had enough and we need to start finding/knowing things that can possibly be fixed(BEFORE the perm type damage occurs), if actually FOUND with at the very least here,a good contrasted MRI.
i do wish you luck gram. you just need that MRI done asap. it may also help to actually bring someone into any appts you may have where you will be asking for the MRI. it just gives YOU a bit more power since it would be the two against one type of dynamic? docs just do not like to be outnurabered, it takes away some of their overall control over the patients. please keep us posted gram, and good luck, Marcia
