Feed a dog enough rice and it will cook itself?

My husband works with a guy that's always telling these strange stories. He tells my husband during the Vietnam War the Vietnamese soldiers would feed dogs rice and for some reason it would heat up in their stomachs hot enough to cook the rice and the dog. He says they would do this so they didn't have to light a fire and give away their positions. Is there any fact to this? I need sources.
