Okay, I'm a little confused, I was wondering if someone could sort this out for me.
I know the Federal Labor Laws say you get a 15 minute break every 2 hours, correct? So if you combine them into 4 hours that's a half an hour break. (But really you only get a break if you're scheduled for 5 hours, no break after 4 hours.) That's at least how it is at my work place.
If we are scheduled for 8 hours, or more, we get an hour break, EXCEPT on Sunday. On Sundays we only get half an hour.
What I want to know is, "Is that against the law?" Because it sounds just plain fishy to me. Why would Sunday be an exception.
We've had people work 9 hours on Sunday and only get half an hour breaks. That just doesn't seem right to me.
Now I also know that the Federal Laws out weigh any STATE laws. So that keeps them from trying to be unfair, in ways like this. But I've tried to find the Federal Labor Law where this is explained, and I just can't seem to it..
I'd prefer a source link that explains, please and thank you!
