Hello, Let me start with a simple explanation of what this question is about. At the place I work, I do not want to give its name or take this to a extreme level, My Co-Workers and I have been having issues. (I know a working life always has issues, but hear me out). Not with each other but with the way things run around there. I will admit a lot is just stuff we can complain about but can not really do anything and most of the time, as much as I do not like it, I would have to agree on them with a lot of stuff (That stuff I do not even bring to there attention because I know it's a waste of both our time). But recently there has been issue that I believe I had to stand my own ground (I don't know how else to say it). I refused to do a task given to me by my higher ups, because it has high increase of risk in safety. Not to me but to others, and I have quite a few Co-Workers in the same department as me saying the exact same thing. My superior then got others from a different department to do the task. Me and others have been writing up for not obeying.
Please, I do not know what you might think when you read it so I am leaving a note. I'm trying my best to make it sound not a huge big problem and a really bad business. The task most of you would think is stupid and not a big deal if you knew what it was (but it can be a really really really big deal with a simple mistake creating Huge injury) most people wouldn't notice it unless it was there job.
Sorry for the wait. My main question is. "If you ran a corporation and a lot of workers below you (way below you) say something is unsafe. can you legally ignore them completely and do it anyway?
If there is a law agents this I would be rather grateful to know. Please quote the law and how I would find it.
