How much has the UK's footprint been reduced since the industrial revolution was at it's peak? What position does the UK hold regarding poisoning the atmosphere? There is little industry left in the UK and the winds from the Atlantic are clean and diffuse the air over the UK before moving on to Europe and Scandinavia! The government will soon be taxing flights (argumentative) - outside of that any other tax would be robbery on people who are about to embark on a year more difficult than this one.
