Feasibility of renewable energy?

It seems many on this forum are now pushing for a "renewables only" solution.

Are these individuals being played by big coal or could renewable energy alone actually power America? Is it now realistic to assume that renewables could provide baseload in the US?

Is refusing to deregulate nuclear energy exactly what the coal companies want?

i doubt that renewable energy alone can power America or the whole world. Renewable energy is more expansive than fossil fuels. Only time can change that because when fossil fuels become lesser and its prices increases, people will look out for alternative fuels that are renewable.

I think it is unrealistic to assume that renewables can provide baseload in US. it is sustainable but the technology we have are not that effecient. Such as solar panels... most of the light energy are lost as heat. Perhaps only time can reveal new technologies that can make renewables efficient.

i dont think refusing to deregulate nuclear energy is exactly what the coal companies want. tt is just too inhuman... haha

i hope this helps ans ur qns n.n

So far all the renewables are too weak and expensive. Many are not even new, and long since discarded in favor of cheaper and more powerful coal and gas engines.

So basically renewables will become the only power source only when the non-renewables actually run out.
