Lately I have noticed minor things where people have done the wrong thing and broken the law. For example, yesterday two boys were riding illegally modified noisy loud scooters along a bikeway/walkway. It really hurt my ears and was frightening dogs and children. I really wanted to yell out to them that it was wrong, but I was scared they would confront me. In the end another lady did. Another time I saw a young man throw a half lit cigarette into some grass. Not only is it the height of summer and we have problems with fires in Sydney, but it was polluting a lovely park. I was actually standing above him in a tower so could not put it out myself, but I really wanted to yell out something but was again afraid to in case he attacked me. Do you ever speak up when things like this happen? In the past I have heard stories of people coming to grief when they go to someones aid and this is what i am scared of.
