Just got this movie on DVD and the end confused me slightly. Fear in the Night was made in 1972, and starred Peter Cushing, Ralph Bates, Judy Geeson and Joan Collins.
I liked this movie a lot. It was a bit slow but nevertheless very good. However, one thing irked me.
If you have this movie on tape, or DVD or your hard-drive, can you please explain something?
The ending. Throughout the movie we see Judy Geeson talking to what looks like a shrink - she's telling a story. We see the back of his balding head. I'd have thought at the end of the movie, we'd have a conclusion to this set-up. Like the shrink would get up and lead Judy back to her cell in the mental institution. Anyone else think this?

We just see Judy leaving the school, with Ralph hanging by the neck. The end.
