FAX MAIL for tmobile

I ended up coming across this after really digging on T-Mobile's site. I found out any customer that has enhanced voicemail and is postpaid customer. You any postpaid customer that has a rate plan of 19.99 or higher gets enhanced voicemail automatically so most you should be covered.

All I did was write customer care an email and then it gave me an option to chat online with a Tmobile rep. I did that and they activated what they call fax mail. You can also call in by dialing 611.

Once they activate it you are set. What happens is it works through your voicemail. Someone sends you a fax to your voicemail and it is stored there until you successfully send it to another fax machine.

It will be beneficial to me since I dont have a fax machine and my neighbor leaves his offline unless needed! So its not like i can just give them his number. Seems like a cool feature a noticeable down fall is that if you dont know they are sending a fax and you answer the call!

Maybe I am the first to post this or maybe this is old news but I thought it to be interesting and maybe useful to some!

Yeah its a wonderful feature and cost nothing additional. We use to have a rep who added it to everyones account which was good but bad. All customers could have access to that feature but it just clutters the network when people are on it and not utilizing it. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

So wait if everyone had the feature added to their account it would clutter the network even if they do not utilize it often?

Does anyone else know if anyone else is doing this?

I do apologize if this was posted before but it seemed new to me!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i don't think its been posted before but I'm a retail representative for t-mobile so I know quite a bit about it. Yeah it does get cluttered because its taking up space on the network/server. Even if you don't use it or a frequent user. You still have an account set up on it.

jonny x edge, oh thats cool. I am currently trying to get a position here some where in miami. Its pretty hard cause they tell me I must apply online but when i log in it tells me i need to do this assessment but when you click the assessment it says USER NOT FOUND. So since I cant do the assessment they cant see if im applying.

I met a guy who has been a rep for 6 years and to see if he can help me but so far nothing!

Maybe any pointers?

jonny x edge feel free to PM me , msg me on BB messenger or AIM

It appears quite a few of the TMO reps are completely and blissfully unaware of such a feature.
Half an hour later on the phone being passed over to multiple CSRs
I'm back to square one on getting this feature activated.

One CSR thought it was a feature that needs to be activated on the Phone itself
(as against Voicemail) and asked me what type and model of Blackberry I was using.
Got passed to another CSR who even said the feature is available on Enhanced
Voicemail but, wasn't aware of how to get it setup on my Voicemail account.
And then I get hung-up on -accidentally I guess- when getting transferred to another CSR.

Looks like I'll have to waste some more time on the phone tomorrow again.

Actually you dont!

In my original post I tell you how you can do it over the web while on a online chat with a rep. You just go to Tmobile.com > support > contact us > send us an email > I answered yes , products and services, voicemail, and then in the text box I wrote something like "I want to add fax mail to my account?"

Then you click next and there should be a link to chat with a representative there!

There you go and honestly it took me like 10 mins. I think the guys name is David D!

Anyways hope this helps graphreak!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~fax mail is a great feature but as a tmo rep not many people have use for it and since its a free feature (we don't get paid on it) its very easy for us to forget. I know of only a few reps who knows what it is and how it works.

Anytime! I need to start making sure I give back to others! I have received so much help since I joined this site back in 2006 despite my brief sabbatical to the world of other boring cellphone devices! hA!!!! rabroad ROCKS!
