Favourite Tracks/Albums By A Particular Artist?

Ill start off with John Martyn:
My favourite albums are 'Grace & Danger' (1980), 'The Apprentice' (1990) & 'Solid Air' (1973).
This is possibly my favourite track of his although there are so many good songs by him (from 'The Apprentice'):

Oryt lol I remeraber I used to go on internet in computing lol.
Once we hi-jacked this guys pc when the teacher wasnt looking & put in some *** porn website lol then the teacher turned round and saw it lol.

LOL. We hack into our teachers computers and play with their settings for the mouse or move the mouse around. It's funny when the have the projector hooked up to a computer and someone hacks into their comp and goes on paint and starts drawing stupid stuff. I love it. (Given if your on a computer that has the privledges to open and download documents. Which I know which ones you can and can't on.)
 
Bloody hell lol thats a bit advanced for us. Still would be funny though.
Ive just decided, Im gonna do a Metallica feature on this thread as well :D & i dont care if people hate them, to me they are a great band.
 
Aye. I don't really like Metallica. They are way to succesful. BanRAB like Metallica have their primes when they are in their mid 20s to early 30s or in the early 70's to late 80s MAYBE early 90's. I think Metallica should calm down in the rock scene for awhile. They seem like they are trying to sound modern in my ears. But hey man that's your choice. I would do a Slayer one if it was me though. (:
 
So heres my Metallica feature:
The first time I ever heard Metal was back in high school when I was about 13 or 14, a guy gave me a custom made compilation of Metallica tracks which I thought was long lost when I recentley found it (& have since lost it again lol). Amongst the first tracks I heard were 'Fuel', 'Fade To Black', 'Of Wolf & Man'....& more I cant remeraber.

I have since went out and got all their albums: my favourite is 'Ride The Lightning', 'Kill E'm All' is also immense. 'Re-Load' & the most recent one 'Death Magnetic' are also amongst my favourites.
I also love S&M- such an epic album.
Metal purists may slate them for cutting their hair/going commercial or whatever but I am a music purist & to me the music was still amazing as was the S&M concert.

Going back a bit now, this ones off my favourite album of theirs of the same name. WorRAB cannot express the joy I feel everytime I hear that opening riff.

It took me a while before I eventually got 'Kill E'm All'. Very good debut.

Finally, whatever people say about their new album I think it is excellent and one of the best they've ever done.
Definitley better than St Anger although there are some good tracks on that album that I think get overlooked often:

There you have it, hope you enjoyed my 'Metallica feature'.
Some may argue I left out classics such as 'One' or tracks off Master Of Puppets but I dont really care for either album TBH.
 
I understand they are pretty succesful but the music is still great.
As for Slayer, I find them a bit too extreme but Ive got their album 'Reign In Blood' from 1986 which I heard was very extreme for that time.
But Im not rooted in Metal, if I was I would probably appreciate them more.

I grew up listening to the likes of The Stone Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stereophonics, Primal Scream, Shed Seven, Cast, The La's.... so as you can tell Im much more of an original 'Indie' kid & thats where my roots are.

I can honestly say I have not listened to any of the above artists in ages though since I got into Neil Young & the likes.
Even now Ive not really listened to much Neil Young in a while since my venture into Jazz,Blues & Avant Garde.
I've found I have come to appreciate Metal & much weirder music as Ive gotten older though & rightly so.
 
I grew up listening to death metal and deathcore type music... I'm going to be a well rounded person when i'm older. But I really like RHCP.
 
Yeah well I think I would have been the same had I heard Slayer when I was like 13 or whatever.
I think the first few banRAB you get into when your around that age really shape your main taste in music.

All I have done now is extended my interests out into other genres but Ill always love the likes of Stone Roses & RHCP.

So what did you think of my selections? Any of those songs you actually like? ^^
See there commercialism doesnt really bother me, but usually for the people that it does they usually cite the likes of 'Kill Em' All' as their favourite Metallica record.
