Favourite Marilyn Monroe Movies?

The woman's a legend! I am a young student and have recently been learning more about the so-called "Golden Age of Hollywood", of which Monroe was a key figure of course. I've seen some of the most important films from the era and any Monroe films I've seen I've absoloutley loved her in. She's just got this incredible electricity that pulls you in. A good example is that in many of the scenes in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", scenes in which she is playing with her co-star Jane Russel, a very talented actress herself, you can't look at anyone but Marilyn. Fantastic.

Along with James Dean, Marilyn used to be another obsession of mine. Again, I've read so many biographies on her.

I also adore All About Eve, sure Marilyn is only in it for about 5 mins, but she makes her mark looking all stary eyed lol. And of course, Bette Davis is stunning in that movie.

She was totally underrated when she was alive. My favourite is The Misfits.

I totally agree with you - it's one of those rare occasions when you can see star potential onscreen; even with Bette Davis playing Bette Davis, Monroe still shines through - now that takes talent!

Not too keen on most of her work unfortunately - she was forced to take mindless roles for most of her career There are a few breakthru moment, but they are few and far between. My favourite role of hers? Some Like It Hot - without question...
