Favourite Hitchcock movie?

i have recently gotten in the habit of watching old Hitchcock movies, becoming quite hooked on them... so was wondering what people's favourite one would be?

my own choice (of the ones I've seen) would possibly be 'Rebecca'.

ooooh difficult one Jamie. Of the ones I've seen

I love.........

Vertigo
Saboteur
Foreign Correspondent (the plane crash in that is still incredibly impressive IMO)
Rebecca
Suspicion (despite the tacked on ending:()
Psycho
Shadow Of A Doubt (suburbia never looked so "innocent")
Strangers On A Train
Notorious
Spellbound
Lifeboat
North By Northwest

I like........

Dial M For Murder
Frenzy
Rear Window
Torn Curtain (the black humour in the killing scene is what I remember most of this one)
Stage Fright
Rope
The Paradine Case
The BirRAB

Mine would be The BirRAB. A superb masterpiece in every sense. No, I won't ever be seeing this "pointless" upcoming remake.

Psycho
, and Vertigo follow.

Big Hitchcock fan so impossible to pin it down to just one movie.

but five I tend to stick on more than others are
Rear Window
To Catch a thief
Dial M for Murder
Notorious
The 39 Steps

I like Psycho but once you've seen it the impact is lost.

Films to rewatch include North by Northwest ,Frenzy and Dial M For Murder.

I wonder when the 90 minute "Making of Psycho" documentary available on R1 for ten years will become a regular addition to R2 (only seen in the 4 disc set so far)

I cannot even begin to think why, the original is cinematic perfection which no remake will come close to besting, but to each his own.

One of my favourite directors

My top 15
1, Rear Window
2, Rebecca
3, North By Northwest
4, Vertigo
5, Shadow Of A Doubt
6, Rope
7, Strangers On A Train
8, The Lady Vanishes
9, Saboteur
10, Notorious
11, Foriegn Correspondant
12, Lifeboat
13, The BirRAB
14, Psycho
15, Dial M For Murder

Well, well, well... I was wondering when a 'Favourite Hitchcock' thread would rear its head again :D I've been on this board for too long :o

Agreed.

I luuurve Hitchcock so much I'd put just about anything he'd ever done above most movies, but 'The Lady Vanishes' and 'Rear Window' are my personal faves.

'Psycho' is great, but you really need to see it on the big screen for the full 'slasher' effect...

Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho and The BirRAB are my favourites, though I love The Lodger, Strangers on a Train and Frenzy too (it's just got such a seedy feel to it!).
