Favourite Bonkers Movie?

Everyone probably has a favourite movie which is totally off the reservation and this is mine, from 1989: "Millennium", directed by Michael Anderson.
It has its faults: dire script, cheap fx, terrifying 80s hairdos and a plot which makes no sense at all, but it's still very entertaining and occasionally intriguing.
Written by the reclusive John Varley from his short story and novel, it poses the mystery of how all the passengers in a fatal air crash came to be burned and mutilated long before they hit the ground.
Starring Cheryl Ladd (!) as a chain-smoking, ass-kicking, time-travelling commando, Kris Kristofferson as a bewildered aircrash investigator trying to keep up with the brain-melting plot and Sid from CSI:NY as Sherman the robot.
Very rarely seen these days and due for a remake with a decent script and budget.:)

Oooer, I've got this on old VHS. I thought it kind of quirky but very watchable type of film.
For me, I'd have to say the 1964 B film The Time Travellers.
I can't explain it in short, so here's a link to IMDB
The Time Travellers
I love this old B film.
It's on YouTube as a very small clip. Just so you get my drift.

Glad someone remembers this. I read the book first and so was less excited by the film, but what a brilliant premise, and my copy of the book has one of the worst ever covers with this hideous glowing all-over silver that can cause blindness if held up to the sun. Varley is a great but largely ignored sf writer. His Gaea trilogy is superb with a heroine who is so clearly lifted from Ripley from Alien you just have to smile. Cirocco Jones, ah, the memories.

Rubbish movie though... in a good way. My vote for a bonkers movie is the traditional choice of Tetsuo. No idea what that was all about, except for the fact it was bonkers.

I also have the silver assault-with-a-deadly-weapon paperback. Great for annoying people on the bus.:)
John Varley doesn't seem too bothered about filming his work; on the basis of Millennium it's hardly surprising.
Incidentally, the VHS version has a slightly different ending from the cinema release: KK's nude embrce with Cheryl Ladd has been removed.

also enjoyed Millennium
but guess my favourite bonker movies would be Q the winged serpent and Buckaroo banzai
both a lot of fun and very silly.
