What are your favorite recent shows that have made their debuts lately, if any. Feel free to give reasons, if you have any.

American and otherwise:

Wayside (makes me laugh)

Kappa Mikey (I like the social commentary on otaku and anime culture, and I like the gags

Martin Mystery (I like the animation. The writing is a bit formulaic, but that's all right. I actuallly like franime)

Storm Hawks (I like how they're trying to do something unusual with digital animation)

WITCH (not a bad show by any means. Actually pretty good)

Oban Star Racers (Good design)

Anime:

Death Note (I don't like the way it looks, but I do like the writing and the suspense)

Blood+ (Didn't lik it at first, but it's grown on me)

Digimon Data Squad (Fun show overall)

FUNimation One Piece (I guess I'll count this as a new show. I dig it)

Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl (I like Pokemon now more than in the past, mostly because of this show)

^Some of those shows have been around since summer of last year, if not earlier.

Anyhoo, I think my favorite new show is Death Note, Chowder, and Phineas and Ferb, in that order.

Yeah, I know. I'm lenient like that. To me it can be more than a year old and still be new, just cuz there's been a lot of new shows in the last five or so years...

I'd say the New Adventures of Lucky Luke. Sure, it came out in France about 2001, but it's recent to me. I just tracked down the DVD's on Amazon a week ago.

For me, one recent show that has proved itself to be worth watching for me is C.H. Greenblatt's Chowder. So far, it's been consistently funny and entertaining, and at a time when most animated series are nothing more than carbon copies of each other, Chowder is a red-blooded original.

I wasn't all that crazy about CN's new George of the Jungle series at first, but it's starting to grow on me. The last couple of shows have actually been pretty good. If you think of George as its' own thing and don't constantly compare it to the Jay Ward original, it's not a bad show.

Some other more recent shows like CN's Out of Jimmy's Head and Disney's Phineas & Ferb each had/have the potential to be good, but neither quite hit the mark for me. Both of them are better ideas than shows, IMO.

C.H. Greenblatt's Chowder. It's one of the best shows in writing and storyboarding, and it gets the respect it deverses. I love this show, and hope shows of this quality continue to roll out from Carton Network.

I'm agreeing with everyone, Chowder is everything it should of been, and more. One of the best in a long time. And I'm hooked on Death Note; Finally an anime I can watch and really enjoy, a very hard accomplishment for me.
