Favorite Live-Action/Animation Movie

These type of movie is among my most favorites and I would like to to know which of these do you like.

My favorites are:

Space Jam: I have seen this movie many times and I still love it today. The interactions between Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes were always great to watch and the Monstars were real formidable villains. The movie had wonderful animation, good humor and a great soundtrack. It is often criticized for the sudden introduction of Lola Bunny and supposed product placement but I never minded.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?: This movie is also a continuous delight for me. It had many classic moments such as the piano battle between Donald and Daffy Duck, Eddie Valiant going to Toontown, and when all the popular cartoons characters were seen at the end. Roger Rabbit was a hilarious character and the plot was very engaging.

Definitely Roger Rabbit. I watched it recently and it still holds up, not only in plot but the quality of live action/animation interaction and laughs. And of course, a fantastic BTTF-channeling Alan Silvestri score.

Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are both excellent movies. Of course as I've frequently stated, I'll never be able to be objective about Space Jam. As a Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan fan, I would've loved Space Jam even if it was the worst movie I'd ever seen.

As everyone else, Roger Rabbit comes first. It's just brilliant. A film that works that adults and kids can enjoy, and seeing Disney and Warner Bros, characters for the first time, is just....awesome.

When it comes to Space Jam, well I enjoy it more than Back in Action, mainly because there's less stupid live-actors stealing the limelight, and it's great seeing all the Looney Tunes characters, friends and foes, work together.

How many animation live action cross over movies have their been? seems like a short list unless i'm forgetting a whole lot

Who framed Roger Rabbit wins hands down, no contest
It was entertaining, had some great original characters, had some nice cameos and one of the most hilariously over the top villains ever
Man i still love the whole "I talked. just. like. THIS!"

If LOTR, King Kong, Harry Potter, Avatar, District 9, Harryhausen films, the Star Wars prequels, etc. count, then probably quite a few. In which case the LOTR trilogy wins easily!

But if we're just going with mixes of 2D animation and live-action, then Roger Rabbit no contest.

Roger Rabbit, hands down.

Although, and don't belittle for this, but Cool World is also another hybrid film that I enjoyed. Not as much as Roger Rabbit, but it's still a fun ride for what it is.

I am going to say Roger Rabbit. I love the crossover between all the different cartoons. It's also the only animated/live-action hybrid movie that comes to my mind that I would call great.

For me it would have to be Looney Tunes: Back In Action. Because in my opinion it far more accurately catches the look and feel of the classic Looney Tunes far more than Space Jam, and as such it is a far more lighthearted and enjoyable romp.

I suppose Roger Rabbit takes the top spot, and it's definitely hard to argue with that. It's a great combination that holds up very well. I really need to get it on DVD. I can't believe I've gone this long without it.

And while the mix of live-action and animation is not on the scale of Roger Rabbit, on the Disney front I really like Mary Poppins and Pete's Dragon, as well as Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Other than those, I can't recall very many others. I've never seen Song of the South, for obvious reasons, and Space Jam, well . . . let's just say I've not seen it since it was in the theater. Looney Tunes: Back In Action was a bit of an improvement, but not by much.

As far as I'm concerned, Space Jam tops the list among live-action/animated films. Then again, I like sports movies, espeically those that involve Warner Bros. own Looney Tunes as well as NBA players. I think the best part of the movie was the basketball game, between Michael Jordan and the Toon Squad and the Mon-Stars, who were guilty of stealing the talent of 5 NBA players, including Patrick Ewing Sr., Muggsy Bogues, Charles Barkley and Shawn Bradley. Of course, the movie also had NBA legend Larry Bird as well as both Wayne Knight as Stan and Bill Murray as himself. BTW, veteran character actor Danny DeVito voiced the head villain in the movie. In the end, Bill helped the Toon Squad beat the Mon-Stars, 78-77. Bill got to live his dream, but in the end, he kept going on and on about playing professionally, but Larry had to tell him to perish the thought, because he can't play- that takes place at Michael Jordan's comeback game with the Bulls, after the Mon-Stars had to give the NBA players their talent back, after losing to the Toon Squad. When I went to see the movie at my local movie theater, when it first came out in 1997, the theater turned into a makeshift arena, during the basketball game scene in the movie. Space Jam, which was broadcast on Cartoon Network, three days ago, is still as good a movie, broadcast on TV as it was when it was shown in the theaters.
