Favorite "comfort" movie

One of my biggest comfort movies is "A slipping down life."

It's the soft romantic rage throughout the movie. The passion Evie has for Drum... I have to add that I've missed it dearly since my DVD copy was stolen. I can't wait to see it again.

umm... i think my ULTIMATE comfort movie would be Enough with J-LO!! I watched that movie back to back like 20 times when it first came out on DVD!!!
and i still watch it when i need a good pick-me-up!!!

Also Cyote Ugly is another Favorite!! I just love that movie!! and it puts me in such a good mood after i watch it!!

I dunno.. i guess it has something to do with seeing women succed!! lol

I'd have to go with While You Were Sleeping. That movie is just so darn cute. In fact, any romantic comedy makes me happy, especially Sleepless in Seattle, Sweet Home Alabama and 13 Going on 30.

I would have to say classic Disney movies. Nothing cheers me up more than watching a little Beauty and the Beast or The Original Parent Trap.

Oh I love that movie, one of my comfort movies for sure. Also like watching comedy movies that make me laugh when I am feeling down. For example, Christmas Vacation (Because I love christmas and the movie is a classic, reminds me of happy times when me and my family would watch it every year).

I always watch How to lose a guy in 10 days. Its not the greatest film ever but it certainly cheers me up!

Titanic
Sound of Music
Annie (the 1982 version with Albert Finney)
A Christmas Story
National Lampoon's European Vacation and NL's Christmas Vacation
The Mummy

My ultimate comfort movie is Serenity, despite the fact that it makes me cry. Lol. It just has the perfect mixture of everything I like in movies. Other comfort movies are: The Mummy Returns, Disturbing Behavior, Ghostbusters 2, and Tuck Everlasting. ...The last one sticks out, doesnt it? Lol.

Mulan, The Lion King, and A Knight's Tale. Love classic Disney. And A Knight's Tale is just a cute movie.

My favourite comfort movies are You've got mail (I totally agree with you on that, ROCKSTAR! :D), Sleepless in Seattle, Kate & Leopold... No, I'm not a Meg Ryan fan, no no... ;) Gosh I love her :sigh: She just always makes me happy and just to see her smile puts me in a good mood:) Anyway, other movies I love to watch are One fine day, Miss Congeniality, Save the last dance, While you were sleeping and also Dirty Dancing. I've seen it about a million times but I still love it. Same with all the other movies I just mentioned.

Legends of the Fall - When I´m feeling miserable and just need a good cry. Get´s me all the time and I´ve seen this movie...I don´t know how often, I stopped counting in 1995 :sigh:

Oh yes, Notting Hill when I need a happy end and just want to feel good.

And then like so many of you also Dirty Dancing. It´s a classic. "My Baby belongs to me" :thud:

I agree with You've Got Mail - I don't own it, but I've seen it often enough to have the dialogue memorised  and it's just so sweet and it makes you believe in love and all that. Awww.

I must say my all time comfort movie is Amelie, though - it's quirky and cute and the two main characters are. Just. Too. Cute. And therefore completely perfect for each other. You feel sad? Put it on and you'll start believing in the world all over again when it's over :D and wishing you had someone who was just that perfect for you, but that's something else.

And for something I don't own, but watch every time it's on - well, there are a lot, but I think the one I'll go for is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's sad - no doubt about that; it gets you into a funk afterwards; slightly depressed and melancholic. But somehow it's good, because the film is that good. Jim Carrey in this film was incredible, his was such a nuanced performance and he was the perfect mix of loser and yet still appealing. A loveable loser? Whatever it is, it worked. And Kate Winslet was perfect as the impulsive Clementine...it's smart (uncomprehensible, at times), sad, funny. And the song at the end of the movie, Beck's 'Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometimes'? Perfect. You don't notice it when it's played in the beginning (after the opening credits) but at the end it's just so absolutely right - in lyrics, and more importantly, in mood. It's sad, but it's comforting at the same time. I think I'm weird :look:

Imagine Me and You. This movie just brings my spirits up and its just a cute and warm and fuzzy kind of feeling movie.

The three Molly Ringwald classics: The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink. These movies I usually watch with my girlfriends when one of us is feeling down.

For just myself, classic Disney. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Peter Pan...

That's one I'll put in to cheer up or veg out too when I'm not feeling well also. Well - I'll watch that anytime. Waiting for Guffman falls into that same category.
