Not to long ago I started a thread on the General Discussion board, on what is everyone favorite villain gangs, which to clearify a non super villain team up or alliance of villains that have already establish characters.
In mind, the ones that I really liked are the antagonist gangs in animes. Some of them are freaking great, you know what I mean, a small gang of people that are equally skilled of the heros, close to the same age of the heros, and are tough rivals. Also what I think is even more fun, if there is a equal of merabers in the gang as there are merabers of the main protagonist team, so each one can have their own rival.
That being said, let me first start by mentioning that is anything but, except for being close to the same age as the heros.
Team Rocket (Pokemon) - this is one gang that kept being mention. When I say Team Rocket, I am talking about the regular characters that try to steal Pokemon in every episode, not the organisation as a whole. They can be entertaining and were hillarous in the early seasons. But they are nothing but buffons, who never would be able to battle Ash and frienRAB in a fair Pokemon battle.
Now for the serious gangs that really give the heros a tough time. Some of them aren't really villains, but anti heros or just mere rivals.
Team Trinity (Mobile Suit Gundom 00) - they were more anti heros, since they were on the same sides of the protagonist. They went about their business in a really sinister way, so they are antagonist even though their goals may not be the opposite of the goals of Celestial Beings.
Independent Flying Squarden (Blue Dragon) - they are exactly what you would want a antagonist gang to be. There is close to a equal nuraber of merabers as they are heros, so each one has their own rival (well if you count Logi), and they really tested Shu and company, and helped them better fighters by tough opponents.
That is all that comes to mind at the moment, but if I can make one honorable mention, but if they were villains or tipped more towarRAB the dark side, the VisoreRAB (Bleach) would make my list, because I think they are cool.
