Take the character of Emily. Did the author make you feel sorry for her? Did he do a good job at explaining why she did what she did? What would you have done differently? How did he use locale to set the scene? How did he use symbolism? Did the ending work for you? Answer those kinds of questions. Remember we are talking about William Faulkner here - one of the best - so I doubt you can say too much bad about the story. Pax-C
