I have had cysts for years. My father before me had cysts all up and down his arms and legs and other body parts. I recently became concerned about my lump under my right arm. (When things go RIGHT)...not! and went to a doctor.
The doctor gave me sheets that said to get X Rays; sonogram for the right lump and mammogram. The X Ray showed a MASS (same thing as a LUMP?) DUH! So, now, I'm sitting here thinking it's cancer; although I know it COULD be a cyst and if I lance it (as my Father before me) the cyst will grow back and bring brothers and sisters along. They are harmless. Usually gangular in nature (around clusters of nerves and blocking some feelings in some cases) and don't necessarily lead to cancer. But he DID die of cancer in his liver with a rapidly growing tumor. He also had various kinds of unrelated cancers in his body.
So, the revelation will be IF this IS cancerous; but right now, it's just irritating like an infected hair folicle! It DID increase from size of a pea to size of a golf ball in 2 weeks time. They won't go away - that much I know!
