payments. Can they take me to court? My two credit cards were recently closed out due to my father passing away. He was the authorized user on the account. I was just a signer. I have been contacted by a debt collector even though I'm still making the monthly payments. Even though I'm making payments online through the credit card company can they still take me to court? Or is this them just trying to scare me to get the money immediately. Either way my father has no estate and I have no money left from the funeral to pay it off. The minimum monthly payments are all that I can afford.
