Anyone on a fast acting benzo? If so, does it work well for you and do you have any side effects?

Low dose Xanax works well and fast for me. I don't get any side effects from it.

The thing is, I can't take pills so that leaves a lot of meRAB out like Xanax and Valium.

Do you have trouble swallowing pills? You can put a Xanax under your tongue instead.

No I can't even put one in my mouth. As soon as I do it's like my throat clenches shot. When I was 16 I overdosed on pills. I've never been able to swollow one since. (and I'm not tewlling you how many years it's been! lol)

I understand. Maybe there's a med. available in liquid form for you to try?? Have you spoken to your Dr. about it?

I finally saw my Dr today. We're going with Niravam .25 disoluble tablet. Basically it's Xanax in non-pill form. He believes my panic disorder came on when I stopped smoking. I had smoked for 20+ years and I used that as a coping method. Makes sense. Since I quit smoking and had pneumonia at the same time I assumed it was from after effects of the illness.
So now I am anxiously (pun intended) waiting for the perscription to be filled. I've got all my hopes on that little pill working. I hope it works!
