Famous authors/books that are considered impressive by examiners?

Do you know any famous authors/books that are considered impressive by examiners?
Already covered Mary Shelley/Shakespeare/Willy Russell/Charles Dickens.
i didnt mean name dropping,
i meant i wanted a impressive author to write an intelligent, interesting and original opinion about there books.
 
I disagree with the first answer. People do pay attention to what you read, and it can make a difference. One book that would blow examiners away is Atlas Shrugged. It was written by a famous philosopher, Ayn Rand, and it is also is very interesting and fun to read. As long as you can get past the first couple of chapters, and you have a good vocabulary, this will end up being one of your most favorite books as well as impress others.
 
None, I'm afraid.

Name-dropping doesn't impress examiners in the slightest. Saying something intelligent, interesting and original about what you have read does that.
