Fallout 3 guns, which to use?

Hey, just curious as to which guns you preffer in certain situations.

1. Which is best med-close range? Options are: Railway rifle, Chinese assault rifle, Sydneys "utlra" 10mm SMG, A3-21's plasma rifle

2. Which is better? A standard scoped .44mm Magnum, or the Lincoln repeater? Magnum = Scoped, faster rate of fire. Repeater = Higher damage, med+ range Since both use .44 Ammo

3. What gun do you preffer to carry when wandering around the wastelands?

I choose to carry the assault rifle and combat shotgun. Also, carrying around a Fat Man can't hurt.
 
Generally speaking I use a chinese assault rifle and a wazer wifle or whatever its called.
