Fairy Tail vs Groove Adventure Rave

Okay which series do you think is better, Groove Adventure Rave or Fairy Tail?

I know it might be hard to compair a completed series to an ongoing series, but Hiro Mashima makes it hard not to make comparison with his many Rave references in Fairy Tail. I think that is what he wants.

Personaly I think he may have over done it with reusing Rave character designs in Fairy Tail, he gets to a point when maybe he should have used all of the Rave characters and their names and set them in the Fairy Tail storyline like the Eureka Seven movie.

Groove Adventure Rave had its great moments, I loved the whole Silver Rave storyline and it is ending, as well as the ending of the series. Something Fairy Tail doesn't have since it has ended yet a great ending.

But I am digging Fairy Tail more right now, it has less flaws. I like the main heroine in Fairy Tail more. Lucy > Ellie / Resha in my opinion. Not to mention her foil Happy is hillarous, he is the best mascot by far of all of the mascots in the two series.

Fairy Tale.

I've never read its manga, or watched its anime, but I'm sure it's loaRAB better than the clusterfudge that was Rave's first episode, filled with disjointed scenes, needless destruction, and that annoying Plue thing. That just immediately turned me off of the series.

Plue is in Fairy Tail, too. However, he's in it much less and it's a much less annoying (and happier) version of the character.

I haven't read the Fairy Tail manga, but I'll still say the series is much better. The characters are likable, the story knows what it's doing, and the anime is (so far) infinitely better than even the pre-hackdub version of the Rave anime.

Rave's anime was horrible. The kinetic artstyle and action of the manga was reduced to generic JRPG-esque designs. While Hiro designed new costumes for the cast every time it would be belivable to have them change cloths, the anime picked one costume each and stuck with it. And Explosion, which was an awesome blast of heat and power in the manga, was a sloppy little digital firecracker in the anime.

That said, I can't say I'm interested in Fairy Tale right now. Truth be told, I never finished Rave, either. As shallow as it may sound, I really dug all the cool clothes he designed for the cast of Rave, and costumes of Fairy Tale just don't grab me.

If we're talking manga than Rave wins just by a hair because it's setting and plot developments are a little less than generic. The problem with Fairy Tail is that at times it seems that you've seen the developments in it in other shounen manga and sometimes better carried out. (Plus, while the fights are awesome, Natsu has been getting "out-of-nowhere" power-up victories lately)

However, in the anime, Fairy Tail wins just mainly because that the Butt Brothers aren't in it and even though I may be alone in this, I love the magic circles the anime added.

I liking Fairy Tale more than Groove Adventure Rave/Rave Master,

My reasons:

Like Groove Adventure Rave/Rave Master, the series itself reminRAB me of Slayers & it has great beautiful storylines/plot developments, amazing characters like Gray/Erza, hilarious comedy moments/facial expressions, cool magic fights, & awesome thratening freaky villains which Gerard the Sieg Hart lookalike is one awesome villain & the cat-like Toby is one adorable silly villain, hehehe, & no Big Butt Bandits, WOOHOOO!!!!!

I find it cool/interesting with Hiro reusing the same character designs from Groove Adventure Rave/Rave Master especially with the cool character similarities like Musica/Gray & Sieg Hart/Gerard for example and nice to see Plue again who's so adorable/funny.

I so love the main heroine Lucy more than Elie/Resha which she's cute, crazy, & hilarious along with her personality especially her chemistries with Natsu/Happy, hahahaha. Her Celestial Spirit magic abilities with her special Gatekeys are fantastic & I thank her for crushing that perverted scurabag, Duke Everlue, as much as I hated him, which she's good using whips, hehehe. My favorite Celestial Spirits of hers are the selfish jerk Aquarius, the funny minotaur Taurus, & cool crab-man Cancer. She'll be the next Lina Inverse which her & Lina rock.

I love Happy who's cute & mega hilarious with his silly antics/chemistries with Lucy, hahahaha. He's the best funny cute mascot character ever next to Kero from Cardcaptors, Chopper, Don Patch, & Kon from Bleach, hahahahaha.I love Happy's cute little lectures at the end which they were great.

Those cute chibi moments when the episodes end with the chibi characters talking was cute/silly so reminding me of Record of Lodoss War/AIKa R-16's cute chibi moment ending scenes, hehehe.

Interesting that Hiro is a Naruto/Shippuden fan for creating the cool villain Kageyama who reserables Shikamaru by appearance/powers, hehehe.

The new opening/endings were pretty awesome along with more chibi action in the endings.

I got to check out the places to read fan fics, and see if they are any good Groove Adventures Rave / Fairy Tail crossover. Since quite a few characters look a like, the only way to do a croossover is do a different dimentions or universe storyline.

This is meant to compair the mangas more so than the animes, however does anyone else think that Haru and Natsu voices sound similar in the animes?
