HIS SIDE:
-21yrs old, moved to toronto 8 months ago
-works days at a trading job (no pay, in training) and 4 evenings plus saturdays at a call centre to make a living
-made no friends during the 8 months because he's always working and i am the only one he knows in toronto
-pays $625/m rent for basement apartment (1bdrm) $200/m food&groceries and $100/m phone bill.
-makes $1100/m so he has about $175 left over
-really wants me to move in for company because he has no TV, no internet or anything
MY SIDE:
-17 yrs old, got kicked out of my house due to family problems
-need a place to stay for the next 5 months so i can finish last year of high school before uni. and focus of good grades
-my income is roughly 600/m and i am saving almost everything for university
- 2 close friends and my boyfriend asked me to stay with them for free and only pay for food
-boyfriend found out about my income, talked to his mom for advice, and decided to charge me 50/50 down to the last penny - $312.50 for rent, another $200 for grocieries (even though i eat twice less that him and if moved in, would be eating less frequently because i would be going to a friends house for during my lunch break at school to eat)
-this leaves me with $72.50/m to save for uni.
is this fair from his side to charge me rent as well? he's the one that asked me to move in with him and if i didnt he still would have been paying the same rent. i never expected him to pay any extra for me then what he already pays monthly, i would ofcourse pay for my own food.
when he first moved here i helped him get set up, introduce him to people, bring him any extra furniture from my home and basic things like plates, cups, forks..ect and bring over food and pay most of the time when we went out. now i get kicked out and its my moment of need and he charges he down to the last penny....
