Okay here's the story. In November of 08 I had a miscarriage and since then my period has been irregular. It came in the end of December, mid February, and end of March. I had a dream I was pregnant and just had a feeling so I took a test. It had a faint pink line that developed within the 3 minutes. My question is, since my period was about a month ago and its been irregular, is it possible that the test was correct with the positive even if it's early to tell? Or is it possible to get a false positive?

Typically a faint line just means a light positive. As I'm sure you know, pregnancy tests work by detecting a specific hormone in urine excreted specifically during pregnancy called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)

This hormone can be detected as early as six days after fertilization.

However, as the human error level for home pregnancy tests can result in false negatives and false positives, most physicians recommend seeking professional advice after any positive on a pregnancy test. Go see your ObGYN and they'll administer a test with about 97.4% accuracy.

Congratulations if you are pregnant! Please, let me know how it goes for you. Contact me on yahoo answers or at [email protected]. Best of luck to you.

idk i tested 1 day after a missed period, and my test lit up positive like a christmas tree lol

so maybe it's not too early to tell.. i think you very well could be pregnant!

A faint line is a line, so long as it appeared within the designated time frame!! Congrats!! You're pregnant!!!

nope baby girl ur prego!!!! ur body releases a certain hormone when ur pregnant and that is how the test comes out +!!!

CONGRATS!!!!

Congrats you are most likely pregnant! I got a very very very faint line on mine because I was only 4 weeks. I mean it was so faint you had to stare at it in the sun light.

YOU ARE PREGNANT!!!

In the instructions it says "one line may be lighter"

..CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A line is a line!!! Congratulations! Test again in a few days and your line should be darker. If it by chance goes away (not likely) it could mean it was a chemical pregnancy (very early miscarriage). Again, this is not likely to happen.
