I'm about to graduate high school and I plan on going to a community college in my town. I have no car, or job because my family only owns 1 vehicle and it's about to break down as it is. So I haven't been able to work and save money for a car/college. I'm going to fill out the FAFSA in a few days and I know I am going to get some sort of financial aid. Because I have good grades, a 3.5 gpa and I made a 26 on my ACT. I did the fafsa4caster online and it said my EFC was 0. My parents barely can keep a job for a few months at a time.
All I'm wondering is will I have extra money leftover after paying my tuition, and if I do when will I receive that check? I desperatly need a car to get back and forth to college and I need to get a part time Job. My parents have no money whatsoever they can spare for me and I'm really upset because going to college had always been my dream! Even community college! It would crush me to know I would have to wait to go because of something like a car.
I've looked over the fafsa website and I can't seem to find when you'll receive the check.
