My daughter had been staying wtih friends the past 2 days while I have worked. These friends have several dogs (with flea medicine apparently on their neck) that my daughter loves to play with, and they also live in the "stix" where I am always finding ticks on me when I get home (haven't found any on my kids as yet). I also met them for lunch while they had my children and dinner. well, she had shrimp and maybe some other seafood at lunch, too. so now I am not sure what has happened, but I started noticing her cheek was red on the outer edge from the corner of the eye all the way down, stopping barely short of her chin. I thought nothing of it, because she has gotten rosey cheeks like this before when outdoors in the sun (which she had been). But later we met to play and I noticed her eye was swollen on the corner and sagging, almost like if she got punched and given a black eye (without the bruising). It was mild, and I thought maybe it was just me. But the next morning when I picked up my kids and she had woken up, her face was completely unmatching on the side. The eye was sagging, and she just looked horrible. This rash is rough feeling, and warm to the touch. i took her in, and the FNP who saw her diagnosed it as an allergy, most likely to the dogs' flea/tick remedy. So she got steroids and I brought her home. She started Omnipred last night. Today, she was complaing about the pain in her mouth, and I noticed an ulcer, then I looked and saw she has 2 white ulcers in her mouth, both on the gums in the front bottom. Are they normal cold sores or should I be concerned with the rash and all? She has had recurrent UTIs in the past, but finally over that. but I am just wondering if something serious could be wrong with her or am I just overreacting?
