Facebook today rolled out an update to its Android app that lets users edit their posts and comments.
"Edit your posts and comments, and tap to see all your changes," Facebook wrote in its app update description.
The same option is also reportedly rolling out slowly on the Web, and will be released for the iOS app soon, a Facebook spokeswoman confirmed, helping those whose posts were messed up thanks to fat fingers or auto-correct.
The Android update, meanwhile, also lets users include icons in status updates, see upcoming events on favorite Pages, and create and share new photo albums from the phone.
Back in June 2012, Facebook rolled out comment editing, meaning you could alter a comment after you posted it. Until now, however, you could not edit your own status updates or posts, except to change the date, location, or tag friends. The only option was to delete it and start over again.
The news comes shortly after Facebook rolled out a test version of its mobile payments system, which will allow users to use financial data stored within the social network to auto-fill when they buy something from a mobile app.
Facebook, meanwhile, might have a bigger user base starting next month. A planned Shanghai free trade zone will reportedly allow people in the region to access Facebook, Twitter, and the New York Times for the first time since 2009.
