Facebook chat on ipod touch/iphone not working?

For about a week now I've been trying to use Facebook chat on my ipod touch.
Each time I go "online" it says no one is online - but if I sign in on my laptop I've got like 20 friends online.
I've never had this problem before :/ I have the newest version of the facebook app.
Anyone know whats wrong? Anyone having the same problem?

I've tried redownloading the app :/ didn't change anything
maybe i need the new iOS4.2 software upgrade?
 
I've got an iPod touch 4G and I've got the Facebook app and then people start to talk too me and I'll say hi and then it says message could not be delivered at this time!!!! :bad:
