Facebook chat doesn't work!?

On facebook my chat never works unless im on a certain page, like the flair or a quiz. If im just on the home page, it says chat is disabled from this page. Its really a pain to use chat and i have no idea whats wrong. I have firefox and this has been going on for a long time, maybe a month. Other people in my house also use firefox and they have no problem.
