face skin is flaky, any advice for me?

okay i've bought products for "acne" and whatnot and the sacrylic acid made my skin extremely dry and flaky looking. i've gotten some of it off with like a face cloth soap and warm water but it just keeps coming back... i've bought ceraphil moisturizer but i feel no difference in my face and it's still flaky. how do i get rid of it? :/
