fable 3 game play question?

in fable 3 at the end of the game i dont understand i beat the game but no one is alive do u have to like not give evryone what they want n they stay alive becuz i gave everyone they want n everyone died. how does fable 3 work wen ur a king n giving people wat they want someone explain please
