Eye Irritation, mostly in left eye.

hi about three months ago it felt like the corner of my eyes were 'drooping' like i could feel pressure pushing down on them. that feeling went away after a couple of days, but irritation remains.

Not worse in the morning, afternoon or evening. Mostly in the left eye, but a bit in the right. The feeling is right on my lower outside eyelid. No visible swelling really. Just this feeling that either my eye is pushing out or my lids are pushing in.

I do notice a whitish film on my skin right outside the edge when i wake up which i didn't have before. My vision is alright although sometimes i feel like i have a film over my eyes. I've seen three different doctors and they can't seem to find anything 'wrong' with them. been prescribed antibiotic drops, antihistamine drops, and nothing works.

could it be allergies? hormones? edema? i have graves which is in remission (no rai treatment just pills for a few months back in 2004 no flare ups since)... not sure what it feels like when your eyes start bulging out. or if it happens when you dont have abnormal blood tests. the eye that has the most discomfort is 'wonky' it doesn't close as much as the other eye so maybe that's why it's more irritated.

this is driving me nuts.

i do have allergies, i believe. i use nasonex twice a day. this actually started when i started with the nasonex. doc and pharmacist says it's not related and don't think it is because this did continue when i stopped taking the nasonex for a month.

no redness. no itchiness. not sure where tear ducts are. eyelashes are growing normally. eyelids feel slightly 'greasy'. teabags, cukes, cold cloths do nothing to relieve it.

haven't been keeping track long enough but DO kind of think it gets alot worse during my period.

any ideas? anyone have this? i'm going insane here. more than anything the mystery is almost more bothersome than the ailment.

thank you!

Can you go to an Opthamologist? they are trained in diseases of the eyes and my be able to offer a suggestion. Also, have you had a CAT scan of your sinuses? It could be some pollups in there that might be causing the irritation. good luck

thank you. my sinuses were quite swollen during my doctor visit in march, when i prescribed the nasonex. wasn't scheduled for a CT scan though. there could very well be polyps. i will ask my doctor when i see him in a couple of weeks.

i visited him two days ago, apparently i have pitted edema in my shins and ankles. i think this is most likely edema also. which is really scary because i'm being sent for a whole bunch of blood tests on my liver and kidneys, and it's not helping my anxiety levels!
