my 1-1/2 year old female, Nala, is an indoor cat. she crys at the door all day in the warmer months, though. we've let her out a few times for hours at a time.
she is EXTREMELY aggressive towards my 8 yr old female, Bebe. Bebe is an indoor/outdoor cat. Nala jumps on Bebe the second she sees her, and torments her to no end. Bebe is throwing up once a day at least and getting frequent UTI's because of this.
Will it help to let Nala outside, too, to explore and burn off the energy that she puts toward making poor Bebe sick every day? Nala is also very fat and I think will benefit from being outdoors.
don't waste your time telling me outdoor cats get sicker often, live much shorter lives, etc etc. I've had many cats throughout my life, all indoor/outdoor, and I haven't had one die earlier than 14 years old- and never have they had any illness.
I appreciate any help! This will be my last resort before getting rid of Nala- which I really, really do not want to do but will if the health of my baby girl depends on it.
Bebe never had any problems until Nala started bothering her. We hoped Nala would grow out of it but 18mos later, its all the same. They both have reflective collars and tags.
