Extremely high car insurance premiums?

I used to drive a 99' Jeep Cherokee Limited, and had insurance through state farm. Before I had a rear-end accident which totaled the other car, and left my car with 6K$ worth of damage, my insurance was 116$ a month for full coverage. After the accident, my insurance went up to 136$ for full coverage. I thought this was reasonable. Unfortunately, I was driving my grandparent's car and scraped the side of my house with it. A comprehensive claim under 1000$ was filed. After this, state farm chose to discontinue my coverage. However, they did offer me coverage through state farm fire & casualty for 400$ a month; needless to say, I'm not longer insured with state farm. I was insured with safe auto for a short period of time with just liability for around $130 a month. They chose to discontinue my coverage after the first month, even though I had no additional accidents. SO, I switched to permanent general insurance corporation, on which i pay around $130 a month for just liability. This weekend, my brother bought a new car, so I acquired his old one: a 2002 chevy cavalier sedan. I thought my insurance would go down, but it is now at $156 a month for liability only. I have been getting letters from my state farm agent asking me to call him for a quote, but i'm assuming they will be outrageously high as well. Are there any car insurance companies that take drivers with a record for a reasonable price? any advice?
