extracting 4 teeth for braces?

Hello am 15 and i have had braces on for about 1 month. The dentist told me they would have to extract 4 teeth to correct my bite and to make space since i have overcrowding in my mouth. I am a kind of of concerned and i am not sure if i should go through with it because i have read online that extracting teeth out can leave a flat look in the mouth and face and make your face look awkward sometimes and i'm not sure if it would be for the better. Also if teeth do need to be extracted i believe 2 teeth in the upper and lower jaw is a little bit to 'extreme' since i believe the crowding in my lower jaw is not so bad i think.Lastly, i would like to know if there are any alternatives to correct my bite and make space in my mouth at my age.

I've been there... and done that. I had to have 4 teeth extracted for exactly the same reason. And believe me it was a great decision. My mouth was REALLY messed up and today I have a beautiful smile as a result of the orthodontics. I can't promise that you will be as happy with the results as I have been over the years... But I'd do it again in a second.
