Also there are other warranties available for our bikes other than the HD extended version. Google motorcycle warranty. Some even allow you to make payments.

Good for you, glad your decision payed off.

I will tell you though, you might want to consider your decision to ride a bike if you're luck is generally this bad.

The actuaries have figured out how to make money on warranties, so the odds are always in favor of the house.[/quote

That is just plain wrong telling someone to stop riding because of luck.

Why does everybody pick on Goldwings? Give them a break and pick to Nomads or Voyagers next time. That will spice up the tread and pi$$ off a new bunch of riders. BTW: I got the ESP for peace of mind and the past (earned or not) reliability reputation of a Harley. But man do I like to ride this bike!

I purchased the Harley extended warranty for my 2006 Roadglide total of 7 yrs coverage.
The main reason was for the cam tensioner problem and stator problems that were common so I elected to do it.
The free std warranty of 2 yrs only had only a radio problem and low fuel light problems and a saddlebag lid adjustment in 30k miles.

My First warranty claim was a motor mount then a header pipe, tank sending unit, saddlebag springs, fender mount bracket about 6 months after the std warranty ran out. having about 40k on it.
Now at 65k took it in for a lifter noise, Rockerbox leak/weep, ,Trans shifter seal , headlight short and broken headlight mount bracket, lighter, fuel guage/ sending unit problem.
They opened the cam cover the lifters ok and tensioners looked great. Next then came off with the rear jug and the rod was tight causing some damage. Real problem is a bad crankshaft or bearing. As I right this the harley Esp is repairing the bike with a brand new engine on their dime.
I ride my bike and with 2 more yrs of protection I will sleep and ride a happy camper.
Also they provided 10 days rental at n/c.
