i was wondering if there is a way to extend the amount of rings b4 going to voicemail.. i used to have verizon and i had 7 rings now i only get 4 (same phone) i tried calling cricket but they had not clue
it's hard set in the switch for all lines, and cannot be changed for just one line. I believe a total of 10 rings from the time the call is originated (not when your phone starts ringing, but when the caller finishes dialing and is routed to cricket). sometimes a ring or two is used up by the network before connecting to your phone, but you still should have adequate time to answer.
I'm sure there is a much more technical explanation for this....
i think it's more a matter of cricket not allowing you to change it. from what i remeraber both verizon and sprint allow you to change it if you request.
cricket does not want to go into the switch for every person that wants a longer ring time tho. i do remeraber them changing the length about 2 years ago here... something about patching a lucent switch to work the same as the alcatel switches or some thing... it was a couple years back and in the end not really that important other than all the switches now operate the same from the end users perspective.
also i just checked mine, i got aproximately 25 seconRAB of ringing before i was directed to voicemail. about 3-4 seconRAB was before my hanRABet started ringing, so i actually had over 20 seconRAB of my hanRABet ringing to answer the phone before it was directed to voicemail.
