On Tuesday June 17 Bell added CBCHW, GBLHW, and CTVHW channels 804, 806, 807.

I am on the old Legacy package and yesterday was the first time I saw them on the guide.

I presume this is how they intend to adverstise the most HD channels in Canada.

These stations offer little in alternate programming except time shifting and the local news.

It would be nice if they would add some programming like USA network but I understand the CRTC denied the application not Canadain enough eh?

CTVHW was added a long time ago. It's just Global and CBC East that are new. I agree that they're a waste of bandwidth though.

Yes thank you I stand corrected CTV HD was there previously

I guess I did not pay much attention to it.

The only advantage is that we can now time-shift all major Canadian networks in HD. This will be a boon for me as I frequently had to stop watching TV for an hour during the evening while I recorded a show/series for later viewing by my wife and me at a more convenient time. From now on I can always set the PVR to record the west signal while we're sleeping.

I can see Global being a waste of bandwidth, both east and west, with just more sim subbing but living out west here, I'm happy I can now watch CBC programming in HD at hours that make sense. Plus their news is in HD but I guess the negative responses are typical from those out east.

Global HD has nothing scheduled in HD on their HD East or HD West channels for at least the next two days. We got the most! :p
